Why there's no package price — and how we quote instead

You'll notice our journey ideas show a range of nights, not a price. That's deliberate. A published "from" price for a ten-night trip is almost never the price anyone pays — it assumes the cheapest month, the smallest room and the fewest inclusions, and then it climbs.

What actually sets the price

Four things move the number more than anything else:

• Dates. New Zealand's summer (December to February) and the July ski weeks are peak; the same lodge can cost half as much in May.
• Group. Two people sharing a room is the cheapest per-person shape. Solo travellers pay single supplements; families of five need bigger rooms or two.
• Comfort level. We plan at three levels — comfort, premium and luxury — and the gap between them is real. A night in Queenstown can be NZ$220 or NZ$2,200.
• How much is included. A self-drive trip with a rental car and a few guided days is very different from a driver-guide, heli-days and every dinner booked.

How a Wanderway quote is built

1. We talk first. A short call or email exchange to understand who's coming, when, and what matters most.
2. We shape the route. Nights per stop, drive days, where to spend and where to save.
3. We cost it line by line. Every stay, transfer and experience at the real rate for your dates, with our planning margin shown as one figure — not hidden in each line.
4. You get a written quote in NZ dollars, valid for a stated period, with a clear list of what's in and what's not.
5. You change it. Most quotes go through one or two revisions. That's normal and expected.

Reading the quote

• Prices are per person unless stated, and include New Zealand's 15% GST.
• International flights are never included — you'll usually get a better fare booking them from home.
• The deposit holds the bookings; the balance is due before travel on the date shown.
• Nothing is booked until you say yes. A quote is a plan, not a commitment.
